Federation Spain is an independent production company founded by its CEO, Juan Solá, in partnership with Federation Studios. It comprises producers with extensive national and international experience in film and television, whose work has received multiple accolades, notably Emmy and Goya awards.
The company specialises in creating and producing high-quality audiovisual projects (series, feature films, and documentaries). It collaborates with both established creators and emerging talent, aiming to support their career growth. The core pillars of its editorial strategy are to develop and execute productions with artistic merit, human values, and strong commercial potential.
Federation Spain’s productions include the film “Dancing on Glass”, which premiered globally on Netflix and became one of the most-watched films internationally in its debut week; “Awareness”, a sci-fi thriller that ranked as the second most-watched Spanish-language film globally during its launch year on Prime Video; the series “Ayla and the Mirror”, released on Disney+; the film “Samana Sunrise”, starring Luis Tosar and Luis Zahera; and the series “Nails” for SkyShowtime and Telemundo.
Beyond its audiovisual activities, Federation Spain is committed to sustainability, prioritising environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and legal compliance as part of its core identity. Since its inception, Federation Spain has implemented innovative sustainability practices throughout the lifecycle of its productions, aspiring to obtain the Green Seal from the Spanish Film Academy and become a certified B Corp.
“Dancing on Glass” achieved zero emissions during filming, thanks to its sustainability plan and subsequent carbon offsetting. Meanwhile, “Awareness” earned the EMA Gold Seal.
Since its creation in 2013, the group, led by Pascal Breton and Lionel Uzan, has experienced rapid growth and has offices in Paris, Los Angeles, Rome, London, Berlin, Tel Aviv and Madrid. Federation Studios is an independent studio focused on the creation, production, financing and distribution of high quality productions for the global market.
Its prestigious portfolio includes the acclaimed espionage thriller “The Bureau” (American remake to be directed by George Clooney); the financial thriller “Bad Banks” (Emmy Award nominee 2019); Undercover (CanneSeries Award Winner 2018); the Netflix teen hit “Baby“; the double Emmy-nominated Apple series “Circuit Breakers“; and “Around the World in 80 Days” produced for the European Alliance and BBC, among many other titles.
